8086 Studio / Android app

Privacy, explained.

This policy explains what the Android app 8086 Studio: Assembly Emulator (package com.zubaer.asm8086) does with data. The app is made by Md. Zubaer Ahammed.

Last updated:

What the app itself collects

Nothing. The app has no accounts and no sign-in. I do not run a server for it, and I do not receive the programs you write or anything else about you.

The assembly program you write is saved only on your device, so that it is still there when you open the app again. It is removed when you clear the app’s data or uninstall the app. If your device has Android backup switched on, Google may include it in your own device backup.

Advertising

The app is free and shows banner adverts through Google AdMob (the Google Mobile Ads SDK). To show and measure adverts, and to prevent fraud, Google may collect and use:

  • your device’s advertising ID and other device identifiers;
  • your IP address, from which an approximate location can be worked out;
  • information about your device, such as model, operating system version and language;
  • how you interact with adverts and the app, and diagnostic information such as crash and performance data.

This data goes directly from your device to Google and its advertising partners. I do not receive it in a form that identifies you.

Your choices

  • Where the law requires it (for example in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland), the app asks for your consent before any advert is requested. You can change your answer at any time: open the Examples menu in the app and choose “Ad privacy choices”.
  • You can reset or delete your advertising ID, or turn off personalised adverts, in your device settings under Google > Ads.
  • The app works without an internet connection. No adverts are loaded while you are offline.

Permissions

The app asks for internet access, network state and the advertising ID. These are used only to load adverts. It does not ask for your location, contacts, camera, microphone, files or photos.

The app has buttons that open Google Play, your email app, a share sheet and this website. The “Ask an AI app” button shares your program and the current explanation with an app that you choose yourself; nothing is sent unless you choose an app. Those apps and sites have their own privacy policies.

Children

The app is made for students aged 13 and over and is not directed at children under 13. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes and contact
