BOU CSE Result Companion is an independent desk for Bangladesh Open University BSc in CSE students. Enter a student ID and the app fetches the official result, applies the right curriculum credits, and shows SGPA, CGPA, progress, and standing among students whose results have been looked up — plus lab, assignment, and registration form generators, CSE notice filtering, and saved accounts.

The problem
The official BOU result portal returns raw semester marks. Students still have to work out grade points, semester averages, and degree progress by hand — and the two curricula (batches up to 24 versus 25 onwards) use different credit maps. There was no single place that combined a correct GPA engine with forms, CSE notices, and a respectful public ranking.
What I delivered
- Official lookup, companion maths Exact student IDs only — no range crawling. Results come from
result.bou.ac.bd; SGPA, CGPA, credits, and curriculum selection are computed locally with the handbook credit tables. - Result analysis & PDF records Semester cards, a journey chart of SGPA and running CGPA, and downloadable PDF result records for printing or sharing.
- Leaderboard with privacy Ranked by CGPA, then credits earned. Student IDs are masked and parents’ names never appear. Filters cover curriculum, batch, study centre, and name.
- Forms, notices & accounts Lab, assignment, and registration covers as PDF or Word; CSE notices scraped from the BOU board with spelling-aware matching; accounts with saved results, profile prefill, password reset by email, and optional reCAPTCHA v3.
Outcome
boucse.zubaer.com is live as an unofficial companion for fellow CSE students. It sits alongside the BOU SST site and portal work in the same education space — built as a Vue SPA with a Fastify API and its own PostgreSQL, packaged in Docker on the zubnetwork stack.
